A local music festival is in need of a venue to host a weekend of live music in August.

Carolyn Acton-Reed, owner and manager of Oakham & Rutland Events, is looking for a location to host the annual Rutland Music Festival.

Scheduled to take place on Friday 18, Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 August 2023, the event was first held last year and featured popular local bands including Manky Beds, Funked Up and more.

In 2022, the event took place at Rutland Showground, and was popular with Rutland residents and visitors to the area, who enjoyed a whole weekend of music for as little as £65.

However, the venue is too large to guarantee revenue, so to make the event more affordable for both the organisers and visitors, Carolyn is looking for another central location to host the weekend-long music festival.

Ms Acton-Reed said: "Can anyone think of a venue/outdoor space that could put on the event over the 3 days?

"I could try Cutts Close but that would depend on what Oakham Town Council say, plus it would need to be in a marquee or fenced off as the event would be ticketed."

Oakham Castle is unable to host the event, while Greetham Community Centre, another busy local venue, already has events booked for the weekend.

Ideally, the location could hold 700 people each day.

Any ideas?
