As the nights start to draw in and the temperature drops, Three Counties Dog Rescue has asked for donations of blankets to keep their dogs warm this winter.

Taking to social media, volunteer Parris said: "It's that time of year again where I ask if anyone could please spare any duvets or blankets for Three Counties Dog Rescue. [...] Nice thick blankets would be good to keep the [dogs] nice and warm."

The charity unfortunately cannot accept feather duvets as this can be an allergen and risk for dogs.

It costs around £200,000 to meet the annual expenditure of the rescue centre to cover the kennels, veterinary care and everything that goes into supporting the animals and finding them the best home.

There are other ways to donate, which are explained on their 'Support Us' page.
