Rocka-Buy Records in Oakham has been nominated in the SongsBehindTheMusic Awards 2023.

Owned and run by Dean Poole, Rocka-Buy Records is a one stop shop for all things musical, from vinyl and record players to merchandise and expert knowledge from Dean himself.

as well as relocating to a bigger store, intoreucing new signs and building a shiny new website, the team have just announced that this year they have been nominated for the 2023 Record Shop of the Year award.

The team shared the news on Facebook: "Friends and family of Facebook, we are absolutely blown away to have been nominated for Record shop of the Year 2023, as part of SongsBehindTheMusic Awards.

"We are up against some absolutely awesome record shops, such a Banquet Records, Assai, Hey Joe Records and many more. We are over the moon to be amongst some of these greats but that doesn't mean we can't win it right?

"This is where we need you. All we ask is for five seconds of your time and to click the voting link. It will take you to a screen where you vote your favourite record store. We would absolutely love it if you all voted for us. Voting closes on 31 December, so there is plenty of time but let's go for it, let's get voting and put little ol Oakham, Rutland on the map!"

The popular record shop has also launched a website to accompany their music haven in The Maltings, Oakham.
