Rutland County Council (RCC)'s Transport Team would like to invite residents of Rutland to join their next drop-in sessions to have their say on public transport in the area.

Rutland County Council have been hosting mobile drop in sessions to get public opinion on the local transport in Rutland, particularly in concerns to rural transport needs and issues.

This followed the Rail Delivery Group's confirmation in early July that nearly all 1,007 ticket offices across the country would be closing, including the one in Oakham.

In a separate survey, East Midlands Rail is also running a consultation about the changes to ticket selling. There is still time to have your say in this survey, which closes on 1 September.

Alternatively, read on to find out about the upcoming RCC consultation on local transport.

The next sessions are being held on Thursday 10 August in:

  • Essendine from 10am to 10.30am - outside the village hall
  • Great Casterton from 11am to 11.30am - bus stop by the Stamford Vet Clinic
  • Tinwell from 12pm to 12.30pm - outside the village hall
  • Empingham from 1pm to 1.30pm - bus stop on Main Street near Home Court

For further information please contact the Transport Team at [email protected] or telephone 01572 758138.

For anyone that is unable to come along to the drop-in sessions but would like to give their comments on public transport in the area, and any suggestions they may have, then please email the team at [email protected] .
