Old Oakhamian Cameron Jordan ('18) was in line to make a Premiership debut from the bench for Gloucester Rugby in their match against Saracens last night (Wed) after joining the club this Summer.

Director of Sport, Iain Simpson said: "It's great to see Cameron progress in his Rugby career, with his signing to Gloucester, and earning his selection in the squad for tonight's (Wed) match. We'll be watching his career develop with interest over the coming months."

Cameron follows in the footsteps of Old Oakhamian Rob Cook who has also enjoyed success at Gloucester Rugby.

Head of Gloucester Rugby Academy, Peter Walton, is looking forward to seeing him progress with the Cherry & Whites.

He said: "I first saw Cameron playing for Oakham School, and then England U18s. I was really impressed by his physicality but also his skillset. I know he will apply himself well and work hard to challenge himself along with the rest of the Senior Academy."

Cameron enjoyed a successful rugby career at Oakham and left following his A-levels to join Leicester Tigers Academy. He had two university offers, but he chose to pursue his passion and move straight into rugby full time – so he could concentrate on his developing rugby career.

He had a great year as part of the senior Tigers Development Squad playing in both the Premiership Shield and Premiership Cup games. A minor injury during his last game against Sale, unfortunately, curtailed his ambitions for England U20 honours.
