A brand new artisan market is heading to Oakham next month.

On Sunday 13 August, The Barnsdale will be hosting its first artisan market.

The venue, formerly Barnsdale Lodge, was taken over in February by The Signet Collection.

The historic building was rebranded as a "refined yet relaxed boutique hotel, at the heart of Rutland's beautiful countryside. Quirky British sensibility meets elegant authentic luxury. Guests will see the old blended with the new, the refined with the comfortable, and the local with the worldly."

The Barnsdale has 45 refurbished bedrooms and offers a range of eating options for guests and locals. As well as their reimagined brasserie 1760, a choice of lighter bites are available in The Orangery and Courtyard, with Afternoon Tea available from 2:30pm until 4pm daily.

On top of these changes to the hotel and restaurant, The Barnsdale team are also introducing a range of activities and events to their schedule.

Next on the list is their first ever artisan market.

The team shared the news on social media: "We're hosting our first artisan market here at The Barnsdale on Sunday 13 August, 11-3pm.

"Pop in for a browse, and maybe stop for a coffee or even one of our delicious Sunday Roasts? We'd love to see you there."

This inaugural event, championing local businesses, joins the monthly farmers market in Oakham's Gaol Street, which takes place this weekend.
