A series of swimming lessons for babies is launching in Rutland this September.

Splash Babies has new courses starting at Edith Weston in Oakham as the school term begins.

Splash Babies is a friendly, structured swimming course for babies from 4 weeks old and up., teaching babies water safety and confidence in a fun safe environment.

The sessions are a great family activity, helps parents to bond with their babies and are easy to join.

This will comes as a relief to Rutland parents, who have voiced their concerns at the lack of swimming facilities in Rutland following the closure of the Catmose Sports Centre swimming pool in March 2020.

Still, a shortage of public swimming sessions for older children and adults learning to swim has sparked conversation about safety concerns, considering that Rutland brags the largest man-made body of water in England and Rutland Water beach permits open water swimming through the summer months.

Classes in Rutland's Edith Weston will take place on Wednesday mornings, with multiple time slots available.
