A new walking group, Walk Together Oakham, is welcoming residents to join them every Monday on a free, local, short walk.

Walk Together Oakham is a beginner friendly walking group, led by insured and trained walk leaders. It is absolutely free and aims to help residents become more active at a pace that works for them.

Walks take place from 11am every Monday from St John and St Anne's Common Room, South Street, Oakham, LE15 6BG. There is no need to book on to the session just come along on the day and join in.

Walks will take approximately 1 hour followed by a social element with refreshments available afterwards.

Portfolio Holder for Transport, Environment and Communities, Cllr Christine Wise, said: "We are very pleased to be introducing these new walking sessions through Active Rutland. Walking is great for your physical and mental health, exploring what's on your doorstep and meeting likeminded people.

"These sessions are the perfect way to get moving more whilst meeting new people and enjoying some fresh air, so we'd encourage people to take the first step and come and stretch their legs with the group."

For more information you can contact the Active Rutland Team by emailing: [email protected] or calling: 07765 770930.
