The next Oakham South Surgery has been confirmed for the first weekend in July.

Following the Local Elections, Liberal Democrat Councillors Paul Browne, Ray Payne and Diane Ellison announced that they would be continuing the monthly Oakham South Surgery.

The first surgery following the elections took place on 23 June, and was a success. Cllr Ray Payne said: "So far, so good! The Council Chambers haven't burnt down, the plague has not broken out in Rutland and by and large life seems to be continuing as normal for the hardworking residents of the County.

He added: "Since all three of us Oakham South councillors are now Portfolio Holders in the new administration, I think that it can be safely said that Oakham South is punching above its weight. It's a lot of hard work but we all knew that it would be, we have all been impressed by the dedication and commitment of our staff, all of whom could almost certainly earn more working elsewhere."

These surgeries were hosted in the past to allow residents to voice any concerns that they have about the local area, including but not limited to infrastructure, maintenance, management and more.

They go ahead on the first Saturday of the month from 10.30 – 11.30am and take place in Brook Whipper-In Hotel, currently being rebranded as The George, Market Place, Oakham, LE15 6DT.

The next session will take place on 1 July 2023.

Residents from Oakham South are invited to come along and take the opportunity to share any matters of concern to them with their elected representatives.

Cllrs Browne, Payne, and Ellison look forward to seeing you there.
