Oakham Castle and Rutland County Museum are marking English Tourism Week 2023, which runs from 17 March until 24 March.

Making up over 80% of the UK's visitor economy, English tourism generates billions for the UK economy and supports over 2.5 million jobs, making it a critical part of life for towns, like Oakham, that rely on tourist trade.

Visitors can also pick up Rutland tea towels and other keepsakes during their visit.

A spokesperson for VisitEngland said: "VisitEngland is proud to lead the annual English Tourism Week campaign celebrating our diverse, exciting and vibrant sector, and showcasing the quality, range and value of English tourism to stakeholders.

"The week provides an essential opportunity to raise awareness of the sector to key stakeholders including MPs, with VisitEngland working to support English destinations with political engagement nationally, regionally and locally, and the recovery of the sector."

This follows Rutland County Museum witnessing an influx of financial support following a successful joint Levelling Up Fund bid by Rutland County Council and Melton District Council.
