Oakham man charged after Rutland stabbing

A man has been charged after two people were assaulted in Oakham on Thursday (21 January).

Robert Truscott, 47, of Lowther Close, Langham, Oakham, has been charged with attempted murder, Section 18 Grievous Bodily Harm and possession of a bladed article.

He was remanded to appear before Leicester Magistrates' Court today (Saturday 23 January).

A second man who was arrested in connection with the incident has since been released no further action.

The charges relate to an incident in Bullfinch Close in Oakham during Thursday evening, as reported by Nub News yesterday.

The 36-year-old victim remains in the Queen's Medical Centre where her condition has been described as critical but stable.
