Oakham McDonald's - scheduled to open by the end of this year - is recruiting for a trainee shift manager prepared to go 'the extra mile'.

The job is advertised on the fast-food restaurant's new Facebook page where there is also an image of building work underway.

The flexible full-time role has a starting salary of £10.22 an hour.

The job description says: "As a shift manager you will support the salaried management team in ensuring the efficient running of the restaurant in accordance with company policies and procedures.

"You will also provide leadership, coaching and direction to all crew members to ensure there is an engaged, motivated and skilled team who are customer focused.

"Deal with any complaints escalated to you by your team promptly, lead by example, take an active and positive role in on the floor operations, driving results for quality, service and cleanliness while providing motivation, encouragement and regular feedback to the team.

"Be confident in tackling under performance within the team and escalate where necessary.

"Carry out shift checklist thoroughly on each shift, take accountability for your shift and team, take action on issues escalated by cashier."

It goes on to say that the company will provide 'knowledge, skills and confidence'.

The successful candidate will be 'open, outgoing, up for the challenge' and have good people skills.

"On top of that you're the type of person who goes the extra mile and always looks for what they can learn from other people.

"As this is a people-led business, you'll be a good listener and a team player who is adaptable, open to change and open-minded.

"The intensive management training programme is the first step to managing one of our UK restaurants.

"You'll learn our business from the ground up.

"That means hands-on experience of the kitchen, front counter, dining area and drive-thru – as well as working breakfast, daytime, evening and overnight shifts, so you'll soon be an expert," it adds.
