A 'large quantity' of drugs was recovered by Oakham Police yesterday following claims of a 'road rage' incident.

A member of Oakham Police tweeted last night: "Just about to finish work when I get stopped by a car telling me he'd had a road rage incident with a car up the road!

"Told me he threw the other drivers keys into a field. Pop up and smell cannabis, large (more than photos) quantity of cannabis and tablets recovered."

Police arrested the driver for possession with intent to supply.

The front passenger had a tyre iron in his jogger pants, and was today arrested for possession of an offensive weapon.

The car was recovered as it was used in a crime and with its driver throwing its keys away, it had also been blocking the highway, police added.
