Oakham retirement apartments report high demand

Well over two thirds of the retirement apartments complex in Oakham are now reserved.

Developer McCarthy and Stone credits a surge of interest from local retirees for the sales at Saxon Gardens.

Samantha Watkins, Deputy Divisional Sales and Marketing Director for McCarthy Stone, puts this down to retirees having spent more time in their homes recently, and realising that downsizing could be an opportunity to enjoy a better quality of life.

Samantha explains: "We have been truly overwhelmed by the brilliant response to Saxon Gardens. It's fantastic to see so many people recognising the benefits of independent, low maintenance living and who have subsequently started planning to live their retirement to the full here.

"Now more than ever we all want to feel safe and secure in our homes. For some, lockdown and the Covid-19 restrictions have highlighted the need to be closer to family, to be in walking distance of local amenities where they provide such a vital lifeline, and a property that isn't too cumbersome to maintain.

"The stresses and strains have been felt by us all and so it's important that we help those looking to make the move to ensure their new home is better suited to their needs and is somewhere they can feel safe and enjoy an independent lifestyle for longer.

"We have a wonderful, friendly and thriving community here at Saxon Gardens, and so I would encourage those interested in joining us to get in touch as soon as possible."

Those looking to find out more about plans, prices and the various options available to them at Saxon Gardens, are invited to get in touch and book an appointment for a one-to-one, socially distanced viewing.

With safety being the company's number one priority, the Sales Consultant at the development will advise visitors on specific practices and additional precautions which have been introduced, such as temperature checks on arrival.

Virtual tours have also been made available to help potential purchasers find out more about Saxon Gardens before arranging a visit.

Saxon Gardens features a range of one and two-bed apartments off Penn Street.

The development includes a high-quality bistro serving freshly prepared meals daily, a spacious and contemporary homeowners' lounge, and lifts to assist with access; as well as beautiful landscaped gardens and a hotel-style guest suite for when friends and family come to visit.

An Estates Manager takes care of the smooth-running of the development, and support packages are available which can be tailored to homeowner's individual needs, including help with chores such as housework and laundry.

One-bedroom apartments are currently priced from £217,450 and two bedroom apartments start from £312,450. There is also a range of flexible retirement living solutions whether purchasing outright, renting, or taking advantage of the part buy, part rent options.
