Oakham RFC and Rutland's new laser-tag venue join forces
Oakham Rugby Football Club and Rumble Live Action Gaming, have joined forces only weeks after the family-run laser-tag business opened on the shores of Rutland Water.
Rumble Live Action Gaming, located at Sykes Lane on Rutland Water, have sponsored Oakham Rugby Football Club with a billboard this season.
They join a host of other companies, such as Wooden Leisure Ltd (a company we ran a FREE Up Close feature on earlier this year), that also sponsor the club.
Rumble Live Action Gaming only opened at their Rutland Water location last weekend, Sunday 2 April, and have already made their stance as a beacon of the local community clear by sponsoring the local rugby club.
The family-run venture are advocates of keeping the community fit, having set up their first laser-tag venue at Grafham Water following a health scare in the family.
Matriarch and owner of Rumble Live Action Gaming, Jacquie Rumble, explained: "Our son Joe had a health scare when he was 12 and, after some very scary days in intensive care, it made us all realise what's important in life - health, our time and the memories we make together and seizing the day. We knew we wanted to find a way of being together more. The first seeds were sown around this time."
Members of the Rumble team currently play at the club, so it was a natural next step for the them to support the community team following their launch last weekend.
ORFC's 2023-24 season will kick-off in October, while Rumble Live Action Gaming will be running from now until November, when they must close to allow the wildlife to reclaim the shores of the water for the winter months.
