This Saturday, 4 March 2023, Oakham Rugby Football Club (ORFC) took the win at home.

Against the odds, The Mighty Oaks were victorious against Market Bosworth at home this weekend, with a final score of 19 - 17.

Despite being number 3 in the league, Market Bosworth failed to secure a win against Oakham, who prior to the game were sitting at 9 in the league.

Although some regular players are still out with injury, Oakham have brought up some promising new players from the Colts, including Reuben Styles and AJ Andrews, who performed admirably at the Saturday game.

The team, although not all regular players, showed a real sense of camaraderie, which was commented upon by dedicated supporters of the club.

The team consisted of:

All of the players had the opportunity to play, with second team Captain, Toby Craddock, coming on and performing well in the second half.

After a long absence from the game, Nick Houghton has also showed his skill over the last fortnight, taking a role in the game against Stamford on 4 March also.

Regular kicker Will Andrews had some tough kicks to make, with most of Oakham's tries being pushed to the corners, but he came though and helped the team secure a win.

Ollie Lamb, a player who stepped up to assist with dwindling numbers as seasonal injuries impact the team, also scored a strong try, keeping the team buoyant.

Coach, Tim Andrews, will certainly be pleased with the progress made by the team since the start of the season.

Now a regular first team player, number 7, Josh Tooley, was awarded with his 10 game tie after the fixture, in which he defended well.
