Oakham Rugby Club face two-match weekend at home

Oakham Rugby Club are facing a two-match weekend this Friday and Saturday, with the club hosting games against Sileby and St Ives.

Oakham Rugby Club (ORFC) are a local team based at Rutland Showground who play in the Counties Midlands East (south) league against other local teams, including neighbours Stamford Rugby.

The weekend, they are facing a double-match weekend, with games taking place on Friday night and Saturday afternoon.

Friday night's game, featuring the 2nd XV, is a cup game, which means that if Oakham win, they will progress through to the next stage and face Stoneygate.

Friday's game will take place under floodlights.

Saturday's game, featuring 1st XV, is a league game, which are hosted each Saturday of the season from October into March.

Oakham currently sit 9th out of 12 in the Counties 1 Midlands East table following their 14-12 defeat of Bugbrook last weekend.

The girl's team will also be playing on Friday night, away at Cannock Road, Corby.

The home games for the boy's teams will take place at 7:30pm on Friday 3 February, and 2:15pm on Saturday 4 February, and Rutland residents are welcome to attend the club, support their local team, and enjoy drinks at the club bar, Rutland Showground, LE15 7TW.

The Six Nations will also be playing, so you don't have to miss out on the 2:15pm Wales vs Ireland game, or the England vs Scotland match at Twickenham at 4:45pm.
