Oakham School have submitted plans for a brand-new outdoor classroom to Rutland County Council.

Mr Waghorn, of Oakham School, has submitted a planning application for the erection of a 19x19 timber frame on land to the rear of Station Road.

No new or altered vehicle access is proposed and the application form says "as the site was occupied by an existing structure and a concrete hardstanding, I am of the opinion the effect of the development is de minimus".

The land has previously been granted planning permission for a workshop and messroom in 1985, five lock-up garages in 1988 and a gardeners store and greenhouse in 1991.

It has not been stated what exactly the new classroom will be used for, but the full planning application can be viewed here.
