Oakham discount retailer QD has installed a customer lift in its store in Church Street.

The 8,000 sq ft QD, which opened at the start of November, is split over two floors. The new customer lift is located at the front of the store and provides easy access to the clothing, furniture and home departments upstairs.

Anita Ozya, store manager at QD Oakham, said: "We had always planned to install a lift but as the store opened so quickly, we were unable to get one fitted at the time of opening. We are delighted to now have the lift in place, making QD in Oakham complete.

"While we've been very happy to help our customers with buggies and mobility scooters in the meantime, it is brilliant to have the lift installed so they are now freely able to access QD's great value in every area of the store, both downstairs and upstairs.

"Feedback from customers so far has been very good and we hope this will make the shopping experience at QD even more enjoyable."
