On Friday the 4th of November 2022, Ovation Wine & Sprit Bar are holding a fundraising event in support of Second Chance Dog Rescue.

Having opened just after the pandemic, Ovation Wine & Sprit Bar is a popular watering hole on Gaol Street in the heart of Oakham. The bar is run by Bianca and Chris, who aren't only passionate about all things wine, but also have a soft spot for man's best friend...

Second Chance Dog Rescue do amazing work rescuing dogs from a range of unpleasant and inhumane situations in Romania and Bosnia, and is where Bianca and Chris got their charming rescue dog, Teddy.

Second Chance Dog Rescue is a UK based non-profit dog rescue, with 100% of their income going towards saving and helping dogs to live the lives that they deserve.

They operate primarily in The Balkans, where the need for rescue is desperate, but they also rescue an increasing amount of dogs from in and around the UK, saving them from the threat of euthanasia. So far, they have saved nearly 2000 dogs.

With this charity remaining so close to their hearts, Chris and Bianca are hoping to raise much-needed funds to support the work that they do by hosting an auction, with 100% of the proceeds going to Second Chance Dog Rescue.

Bianca of Ovation said: "We are asking local business and some of our suppliers if they would donate to the auction, so we can raise loads of money for this great cause."

Attendees will then be able to bid for some goodies, as well as enjoying good wine, company, and live music from Raw The Band on the Friday night too.

For anyone wishing to donate, Bianca can be contacted via the Ovation Wine & Spirit Bar Facebook page, where further details about this event will also be released.
