Rutland residents have provided their feedback on a survey released by The Oakham Skatepark Project, with resounding enthusiasm for the project from the local community.

Following nearly a year of hard work and campaigning, in spring 2022 The Oakham Skatepark Project made promising progress, partnering with Oakham Town Council in an attempt to get their passion-project off the ground.

In June 2022, Oakham Town Council and The Oakham Skatepark Project released a survey to establish whether it would be suitable to have a purpose built skatepark on Centenary Field, Barleythorpe Road.

The survey asked residents to provide feedback on the proposals and suggestions put forward by the team at Oakham Skatepark Project, headed up by Jon Dixon.

The survey was open until the 22nd of July 2022, and initial statistics have since been released.

The survey received 473 online responses, and 16 post or email resources, totalling 489 responses overall. 81.39% of these were in favour of the Skatepark proposal for Centenary Field, Barleythorpe Road.
