A local mental health charity has been selected to be involved in Tesco's 'Stronger Starts' scheme.

Pepper's- A Safe Place runs friendly and welcoming drop-in sessions and wellbeing activities for any adults who may be struggling with their Mental Health.

All adults are welcome to come and take a break, socialise, combat isolation, have fun and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee.

Now, the group has been selected to feature in Tesco's 'Stronger Starts' scheme that highlights local charities across the nation.

The £5 million scheme supports thousands of projects and good causes across the UK. It is open to all schools, registered charities and not-for-profit organisations, and Oakham's Tesco has featured a range of local organisations and charities.

The team from Pepper's shared on their social media: "Have you spotted us in Tesco yet?

"We are so grateful to have been nominated for in store voting at Oakham Tesco. Don’t forget your blue tokens at checkout.

"The group with the most votes will receive £1500. This will really help to support many of our activity sessions this year, from Tai Chi to Meditation, Crafts to Gardening."
