Police confirm death in Rutland village 'incident'

A man has been confirmed dead after he became ill while driving in a Rutland village.

Rutland and Leicestershire Police were called to Stretton Road in Greetham at 11.26am yesterday morning (Saturday) following a report that the driver of a car had taken ill at the wheel.

Police confirm that sadly, he subsequently died at the scene.

A file is being prepared for HM Coroner and identification will also be a matter for the coroner.

The B668 Stretton Road in Greetham was closed through the village while officers dealt with the incident but the road re-opened several hours later.
