Police issue fresh statement on dead body found in Oakham

Leicestershire and Rutland Police have now concluded their inquiries concerning a dead body found in Oakham last week.

Today, the force issued an updated statement.

"Police were called to West Road, Oakham, at 5pm on Monday 20 July by the ambulance service after the body of a 39-year-old man was found in a property.

"Enquiries have been conducted and the death is not being treated as suspicious.

"A file is being prepared for HM Coroner. Identification of the deceased will be a matter for the coroner."
