Primary school pupils from Oakham win bronze medals at National School Gymnastic Championships

The level 3 and 4 teams from English Martyrs Primary School in Oakham won bronze medals at the English Schools National Gymnastics Championships.
Their journey started in January when the level 4 teams won top spot in the under 10s and under 11s categories at the RISE Gymnastics Team Competition. This fantastic achievement meant the girls qualified for a place in the county finals.
The county finals took place in March where the teams competed against other local schools. They, once again, earned themselves a top spot at the English Schools National Gymnastics Championships at Fenton Manor on19th June.
With the support from teacher Miss Crowther, the under-11s team won bronze medals and a shield for being the highest scoring school that were competing for the first time.
Headteacher Gosia Brown said: "We're all incredibly proud of what the girls have achieved. Their dedication has been amazing. Thank you to everyone who supported them and helped make this experience possible."
