Police are appealing for witnesses to the theft which happened in, or around, High Street.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said: "We are appealing for information after a purse was stolen from an 89-year-old woman.

"It is believed that the theft happened in the High Street area of Stamford, this morning.

"The woman, who is blind, noticed that the zip was open on one of her bags and that the long, black leather purse was missing.
