The Rutland 1 bus service between Oakham and Uppingham will not be running today, Thursday 4 January.

Due to road closures caused by flooding on the A6003 at Manton Bridge and A606 at Whitwell, the bus service will not be running between Oakham and Uppingham today.

There is no news yet on when the Manton Bridge road will be open, and at Whitwell the water remains so high that cars are stranded, some submerged.

The team at Bland's coach and bus service, who run the R1 route, said: "We've been out early to scout the roads again and unfortunately both the A6003 at Manton Bridge and the A606 at Whitwell are still closed. This means we are unable to provide an R1 service between Oakham and Uppingham. We anticipate all other services will run as normal, with minor delays."
