With the summer holidays at an end, parents of children starting secondary school next year are being reminded to apply for a place at their preferred college as soon as possible.
If your child is a Year 6 pupil this is their last year at primary school and you can now apply for a secondary school place for September 2020.
The national closing date for secondary school applications is 31 October 2019.
Councillor David Wilby, Cabinet Member for Education at Rutland County Council, said: "We work closely with schools and colleges to make sure there are enough school places available locally for Rutland children and now is the time to submit an application if your child is starting secondary school next year.
"This isn't a 'first come, first served' process but it is important to submit your application before the closing date.
"We also recommend that parents make full use of the three preference options they are given when applying for a school place, and that they read the admissions policies of their preferred schools or colleges before submitting their application."
"We consistently achieve high levels of satisfaction when it comes to school applications and our admissions team are available to help if you have any questions whatsoever."
You can submit your child's application by clicking on the red button below, where you will find full details, including a short video guide, to support you through the application process.
