East Midlands Railway Service has confirmed that it will not be running any trains on two upcoming strike days.
Industrial action by members of the Associated Society of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen (ASLEF) union will take place on Wednesday 4 October.
The industrial action is part of a long-running dispute over pay, with the union saying members have not had a pay rise in the past four years. ASLEF rejected a two-year offer which would see drivers get a backdated pay rise of four per cent for 2022 and a four per cent increase this year.
In addition, the ASLEF union have announced an overtime ban from Monday, October 2 to Friday, October 6. This could result in a number of late notice train cancellations - with some as late as 10pm the day before customers travel. During this period, customers are strongly advised to regularly check if their train is running before setting off.
EMR said of the overtime ban: "We are currently reviewing how the overtime ban will impact EMR services. More information including timetable details, journey planners and ticketing/ refund advice will be updated here as soon as possible.
