Rutland children can learn about knife crime

School children across Rutland and Leicestershire can learn more about knife crime.

Leicestershire Police is running a number of free, virtual workshops to raise awareness of knife crime.

In a message to teachers, they said: "You and your students will learn all about the impact it can have on everybody involved, the community, what knife crime is and where young people can go for advice and reporting."

The sessions are an hour long, hosted via Microsoft Teams and will run on the following dates:

26th April – 10am

27th April – 9am

28th April – 10am

29th April – 9.15am

30th April – 9am

Their message added: "If you are a teacher, work in a school or other education establishment with children aged 11+ and want to book a session for your school or find out more please contact our School Workshops team on [email protected].

Information required when booking:

· School

· Year group

· Anticipated number of pupils

· Preferred session time

· Contact name and email address for each class

"We are conscious all school have different lesson times therefore if these do not fit please let us know suitable alternatives and we will give consideration to providing additional inputs dependent upon existing commitments."
