Rutland Community First Responders attend nearly 1000 patients in 2022
The Rutland Community First Responders have released their statistic for 2022, and a statement celebrating a successful 2022 for the hard working team of volunteers.
Rutland Community First Responders are a group of local volunteers who work with local healthcare services and emergency responders to provide time to the local community responding to category A 999 calls.
In 2022 they supported the community with a smile and achieved some impressive statistics:
- 5.530 hours on call responding
- 954 patients attended
- 555 hours training ourselves and others, first aid cover
As they welcome in the New Year, they have released a statement celebrating their successes and thanking the hard working team:
As we leave 2022 behind and 2023 beckons I would like you to thank your amazing Rutland Community First Responders.
Their commitment, enthusiasm, professionalism and strength in some quite distressing situations have been awesome.
They have covered beyond our area of Rutland too.
They have volunteered for thousands of hours attending hundreds of members of our community, more often that not being FPOS (First Person on Scene) and for all that we should all be very thankful.
They have gone above and beyond by familiarising hundreds of members of the community with basic life support skills including CPR, fundraised for their uniform and kits, worked with other emergency services, as well as HEMS and EMICS They have been awarded medals and awards to acknowledge their voluntary service. They have attended regular and extra training both face to face and on line.
Thank you especially to all our regular sponsors and to all who have given financial support to our small but very active group of self funded volunteers.
We thank all the EMAS crews who continue to backup, support and encourage us despite the intense pressure they are under.
We have enjoyed the use of a funded EMAS responder car this year too.
We fully appreciate all the families of our Responders, who accept us rushing out to a call at any and all times.
We would like you to know that the role of a CFR is ultimately often the first link in the chain of survival, and sadly despite the successes, we have lost some patients despite the whole team efforts. We are thinking especially of their families and friends and we wish all the best to all our patients and families.
We would like to wish you all a happy and blessed New Year.
