Rutland County Council announce transport consultation as Oakham Station ticket office closes

Rutland County Council have announced further drop in sessions regarding public transport in and around the county just one day after it was confirmed that Oakham Station's ticket office will be closing.

Yesterday, Wednesday 5 July, the Rail Delivery Group confirmed that nearly all 1,007 ticket offices across the country would be closing, including the one in Oakham.

Today, Thursday 6 July, the team have announced the next round of drop in sessions as the Council give Rutland residents the opportunity to have their say about transport in the area.

Rutland County Council's Transport Team's next mobile drop-in sessions are being held on Thursday 13 July, and will allow residents to have their say on public transport in the area. 

The drop in sessions on Thursday 13 July will be held at: 

  • Manton 10.00 am – 10.30 am (Bus stop on Lyndon Road by Stocks Hill)
  • Edith Weston 11.00 am – 11.30 am (Bus stop on Manton Road by the Wheatsheaf)
  • North Luffenham 12.00 pm – 12.30 pm (Bus stop on Pinfold Land)
  • South Luffenham 1.00 pm- 1.30 pm (Bus stop on Stamford Road)

All feedback will help towards the work taking place around the transport network review.

Anyone can call in and have a chat to share ideas on local public transport.
