Rutland County Council is offering free parking in all council-run car parks across Oakham and Uppingham this festive season.

The County Council will do this to support late-night shopping events, the national Small Business Saturday campaign and Black Friday.

On 21 November to mark Black Friday, parking will be free in the council-run public car parks to encourage residents and visitors to start their festive shopping early by supporting local retailers.

There will also be free parking on 4 December from 3pm in Uppingham and 15 December from 3pm in Oakham, to coincide with the towns' late night shopping events.

On-street parking restrictions will remain in place.
