Rutland County Councillor steps down from Cabinet

Councillor Marc Oxley has stepped down from his Cabinet role as Portfolio Holder for Communities, Environment and Climate Change, for health reasons.

This follows Cllr Oxley and other Cabinet members facing backlash earlier this week at the public meeting regarding the future of Catmose Sports Centre.

Cllr Oxley will continue to serve as a Ward Member for Uppingham until Rutland's next local government elections in May 2023.

Portfolio Holder duties for Communities, Environment and Climate Change will be shared among the remaining Members of Cabinet, as follows:

Leisure – Cllr Samantha Harvey 

Culture – Cllr Lucy Stephenson 

Environment, Climate Change and Community Safety – Cllr Rosemary Powell
