On Friday 7th November, the Lord Lieutenant of Rutland is hosting the Rutland Festival of Remembrance to celebrate the county's long history with those who are serving or have served in HM Forces.
Having several army bases in the county, Rutland has a high proportion of serving or ex-military personnel and their families, with military accounting for 5.1% of the resident population (June 2023).
The Lord Lieutenant of Rutland is holding the Rutland Festival of Remembrance, with drinks and canapes before a special concert as part of an evening of reflection and celebration.
There will be musical performances from pupils at Rutland's secondary schools, as well as the Cottesmore Military Wives Choir, the LNR ACF Corps of Drums, Uppingham School Pipe Band and Harrington Band and Choir.
All profits from this event are being donated to the Rutland Branch of the Royal British Legion.
