Rutlanders are being urged more than ever to 'stay at home' due to a warnings of flooding.
Storm Christoph is forecast to deliver a deluge of rain today and tomorrow, leading to flooding in many places.
An Amber warning has been issued for much of the North and Midlands, which means there is a greater chance of the weather impacting on the public in some way.
Rutland Police said today: "Please take extra care if you're on the roads today, with lots of flooding, standing water around, as well as low visibility."
They added: "Theres a high chance of localised #flooding throughout the area so we would ask that people consider if their journey is essential.
When/if carrying out #exercise please to stay away from rising rivers etc.We just want you all to be safe."
In addition, the volunteer Leicestershire and Rutland 4x4 Response team said on social media last night: "Group on Active standby for Storm Christoph. Rain on already standing water and swollen rivers will be a real challenge Please follow local flood warnings and alerts and prepare now if you are at risk #floodaware #StormChristoph."
