The Rutland Healthcare Support Shop closed in November 2022 when Voluntary Action Rutland took the tough decision to close the shop located in Lands' End Way.

After a year of searching, the team have finally opened the doors to the new venue in Barleythorpe.

The Rutland Healthcare Support Shop is a local charity that has been open since 2008, providing essential supplies to those in need, including but not limited to wheelchairs, crutches, walking frames, toilet aids and bed cradles. 

The shop, run by volunteers, was housed in one of the hubs owned by Voluntary Action Rutland for 14 years. However, with Voluntary Action Rutland closing their premises on Lands' End Way, the shop had nowhere to go. 

Now, the team have shared the good news that they are back up and running in Wheatfield Way, Barleythorpe, Oakham.

The shop was opened last week by Susan Allen, one of the founding members of Rutland Healthcare Support in 2008. Chairman Pat Morley and the rest of the Charity Trustees are very grateful to Robert Myers of Oakham Grange Care home for arranging for us to use their premises and look forward to providing Rutlanders with our helpful service once again.

A spokesperson for the group said: "We are very pleased to announce that after a year of searching for new premises, the charity Rutland Healthcare Support, is now open for business again, for the hire of wheelchairs, commodes and walking aids, and the purchase of other healthcare items."

The new address for the Healthcare Support Shop is Oakham Grange Annex, Wheatfield Way, Barleythorpe, Oakham LE15 7UD
