Pepper's A Safe Place, a mental health group which operates in Oakham and Melton will be running a course throughout December to reduce stress and introduce locals to wellness.
The Oakham branch of Pepper's will be introducing a whole variety of new ways local people can access wellness and support, with groups and activities to suit the needs of different people.
Every Wednesday, Mindfulness and Meditation will be run by Helen. Previously, this has included breathing exercises, lavender candles and learning calming techniques. This runs at Pepper's in Oakham Town Centre every Wednesday from 10.30am to 11.30am in the run up to Christmas as a perfect way to detach from the flurry and stress of the holiday season and take time to be mindful and relax. Mindfulness and Meditation will also continue into the New Year.
There will also be a '5 Ways to Wellness' course run by Leicester Council on 17th December between 10.30am and noon. This will be hosted at Pepper's and will be followed by the first Pepper's Walk in partnership with Active Rutland. This first walk will be a great taster session for those interested in getting involved at Pepper's and is the perfect way to get active in a safe and supported way. After the initial walk on 17th December, these will become a regular occurrence in January.
There is plenty else happening at Pepper's with drop-ins, a mental health café, arts and crafts, tai chi and a Christmas Party all coming up soon. Check out the Pepper's A Safe Place Oakham Facebook page for regular updates about what's happening at Pepper's.
