Rutland and Melton MP Alicia Kearns is delighted to welcome over £2,200,000 of investment in the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust to upgrade hospitals, directly benefitting Rutland residents.
This work will be spread over six projects, which could include building new or refurbishing buildings, upgrades to electrical infrastructure, improvements to ventilation systems, and works to improve fire safety.
This is part of the £1.5 billion investment announced to level up hospitals across the country.
This is on top of the £3.7 billion announced in October, which provided funds to Leicester University Hospitals.
Rutland and Melton MP, Alicia Kearns, said: "I am delighted that Rutland residents will directly benefit from over £2,200,000 in hospital upgrades. Many Rutland residents use Peterborough Hospital which is part of North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, and this investment will allow the Trust to upgrade services and provide better, safer care."
"That doesn't mean I'm done fighting for Rutland residents though. I am delighted that the CCG has committed to me that they aim to expand community health services in Rutland, on which they will do a future engagement with residents in 2021, and that I have secured the Prime Minister's support for my campaign for improved GP services in Rutland.
"In last year's election, I committed to improve our local health services in Rutland, and that is precisely what I will do."
The Government has already announced over £5 billion in hospital investment, this year and the next, on top of already securing 14,800 more nurses for the NHS than a year ago.
