Following an incredibly successful first-time event at Oakham Castle in early October, the return of the Rutland Pet Show has been announced for 2023.

The Rutland Pet Show, which took place in the grounds of Oakham Castle on Sunday the 9th of October 2022, saw over 100 pets competing for titles such as 'waggiest tail' and 'best trick'.

Darth Vader won the 'cutest cat' catagory.

The event was organised by Carolyn Acton-Reed and saw cats, dogs, rabbits, and even a ferret in attendance, brought by proud owners of all ages.

The winner of the 'Howl-oween fancy dress' catagory.

There were also local producers and stall holders in attendance, selling human and pet food, accessories, goodies, and much more.

The show saw hundreds of visitors.

Next year, Carolyn hopes that the show will be bigger and better and has already started planning the event.

Few details have been released, but we know that the event will be taking place on Sunday the 8th of October 2023.

Will you be visiting the show in 2023?

The show was judged by Dr Sarah Furness, and Oakham Nub News's Evie.
