A Rutland photographer has been recognised in the Rutland and Leicestershire regional awards hosted by Muddy Stilettos.

The Muddy Awards go ahead every year and is a platform the promotes and recognised local businesses, hosting a country-wide series of awards each year.

Muddy Stilettos first 'tottered' into the world in Summer 2011 as a bit of fun for the founder, Hero Brown.

The nationwide teams write witty but indispensable local guides to the very best restaurants, walks, boutiques, day trips, hotels, interiors and events.

Muddy Stilettos can now be found in 26 counties, with editions in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Northants, Surrey, Kent, Norfolk, Suffolk, Sussex, Somerset, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Essex, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, the Isle of Wigth, Cambridgeshire, Gloucestershire, Leicestershire, Warwickshire, the West Midlands, Wiltshire and, of course, Rutland.

This year, a Rutland business has been recognised in the Leicestershire and Rutland region.

Winning the Best Wedding Photographer category, voted for by the general public, was Gina Fernandes Photography.

Gina provides "modern, fun and romantic documentary wedding photos for loved-up, sassy and snazzy human beans."

She said: "I'm based in Rutland, near Leicestershire. It's a picturesque county neatly placed in the East Midlands. Being bang in the middle of the country makes it super easy to get to my neighbouring counties such as Leicestershire, Cambridgeshire or Nottinghamshire, to name a few! I travel anywhere in the UK to provide natural, documentary-style wedding photographs.

"I love this job as a documentary wedding photographer. I love all the tears, love and laughter! I also love my couples who want to cherish authentic moments of soul and celebration. They say, 'there's no fear when you're having fun'. I firmly believe you won't have time to feel camera shy if you make the most of the stylish day that you have pulled together."

Gina was the only Rutland-based business to be recognised in this year's awards.

Congratulations Gina!
