Forget the fireworks! A local pub is brining a different sort of banger to the party this November.

The Plough will be hosting a food focused festival next week, and it promises to bring the best of British to the table, with live music, top tipples and a range of locally made sausages.

Being a dog-loving pub, the team at the Greetham-based pub have decided to forgo the fireworks this bonfire night and, instead, will be hosting a sausage festival next weekend.

Headed up by Landlord Peter, this isn't the first of the quirky events hosted by the team, who have held doggy Halloween parties, pet-friendly fundraisers and even the annual Greetham duck race already this year - with more fun yet to come!

The team will have a special menu running all that week, with six sausage flavours, three different mashes or chips and three types of gravy, plus seasonal vegetables or mushy peas.

All sausages will be supplied by the local, award winning butchers Owen Taylor & son, who supply all the meat at the pub.

To top the bill, headlining at the festival on Saturday 11 November will be The Sax Man.

As such, the team couldn't help but name Saturday night of their festival Sausage and Sax night - and they dare you to say that after a few!

The Sax Man, appeared briefly during the pub's beer festival earlier this year, and is back to play his full set, which promises to have folks up and dancing the night away.

Join the fun at Sausage Fest from 6 until 12 November 2023, celebrating the great British banger and this great British pub in the heart of Rutland.
