Rutland Zoo is calling for support so it can re-open early and survive the lockdown.
The zoo, previously known as Bugtopia, is looking for local groundwork companies that can help it out.
An appeal from the not-for-profit organisation, based at Sykes Lane, Empingham, said: "Recent announcement have stated that we cannot open until May 2021, as your little community zoo is fully indoor exhibits. Had we outdoor exhibits we could open up to in April.
"So... we have a plan! We want to add a farm petting area, alpaca, pigs, Pygmy goats with their own playground, ducks, chickens, giant Flemish rabbits and maybe a little surprise here and there.
"This is so we can open in April and create a income for the continued cared of all of these rather fabulous animals here. As waiting for May can risk the future for this little local zoo.
"So we are looking for local help, contracts to come and give us a selection of quotes for groundwork's and installation of perimeter fencing and internal enclosure fencing."
The appeal ends by calling for its message to be shared.
