Rutland's PCC wins award for transparency

By The Editor 8th Mar 2021

Leicestershire and Rutland Police and Crime Commissioner Lord Willy Bach has been awarded with a national transparency quality mark in recognition of the comprehensive information available on his website.

The PCC has received the coveted Open and Transparent Quality Mark 2021 from Chief Executive of CoPaCC Bernard Rix. CoPaCC is an independent national body set up to monitor police governance by assessing how PCCs fulfil their statutory obligations for transparency.

PCCs are not only assessed against the quality and breadth of the information they make available to the public, but also how easy it is for people to find the information and navigate and how easy the material is to understand.

Commenting on the award, Willy Bach said: "Making information simple and accessible is key to the democratic process and every member of my team is committed to achieving this.

"This award recognises the time and resources we have invested into making my website a user-friendly place and ensuring our roles and the work we perform can be easily held to account.

"My website acts as a portal to a whole wealth of services and performance information. It is absolutely paramount this information is clear and easy to find and we are thrilled CoPaCC has endorsed our approach with this prestigious award.

"The Open and Transparent Quality Mark reflects the commitment and hard work of my team in delivering the best possible standards to Leicestershire's communities."
