The Self Care Collective, a new, local safe space, is coming to Rutland soon.

Tia Naneva, co-owner of Fika, and Studio Fig, a local creative consultancy, have joined forces to create a safe space in Rutland.

The space will provide "what a lot of young people in the local area are after", according to the duo: a place to socialise and work on themselves in a supportive environment. Imagine a youth club's older sister.

The Self Care Collective is injecting new energy into the local community by creating somewhere to get together. With each monthly offering focusing on a theme and book to go inward, you'll be entering a relaxed evening of wholesomeness with like-minded people.

On the second Tuesday of every month, 6 - 7:30pm, Fika on Oakham's Mill Street will host a book of the month discussion, a creative projects forum and community check in. The Self Care Collective also have events planned that focus on self care practices including a variety of workshops, activities and rituals with guest hosts. Other events and venues are to be confirmed.

When asked about setting up the Self Care Collective, Anna Robert-Finn from Studio Fig said: " Moving from a city to Rutland made me realise how little there is for young adults to connect with one another here. If I didn't want to go to the pub, there weren't many other ways to socialise. So, we've created a place for young adults to make time to take time for themselves. "

Tia added: "We're all super excited to explore all forms of self care, go deeper with our community, and host some insightful events that will teach us new ways to look after and connect with ourselves."

The Self Care Collective is led by its members and at its core is simply a space for you to have time away from the rest of the world to focus on yourself and what you need. Anna, Beth, and Tia are ready to welcome you with open arms.
