The ever-popular breeding pair are back on Oakham Canal with 4 adorable cygnets.

The swans on Oakham Canal are always hot topic at this time of year, with nature-loving locals sharing their sightings of the pair and their young with friends, neighbours and the wider community on social media.

The Oakham Canal is primarily located in between Springfield on the A606 bypass, heading north beyond Burley Road and on towards Oakham Enterprise Park and Ashwell.

It is a popular spot for wildlife enthusiasts, dog walkers and anglers - and at this time of year, bird watchers.

We went for a visit today, Thursday 29 June, and took some snaps to share with you:

This comes as the Oakham Canal Green Corridor Project team resume their work on the footpaths for the summer, including trimming back any overhanging foliage and installing bug and bat houses in the surrounding areas.
