Step into Spring with a new festival coming to Oakham
By James Smith 25th Mar 2026
Spring is in the air this weekend in Oakham, with the Grainstore Brewery Tap in Oakham holding their first Spring Festival to welcome the season by bringing together great local beer, cider, food and live music.
When Richard and Andrea took over running the Grainstore Brewery Tap in Oakham, they decided they wanted to put a personal touch on things.
Having previously held small beer festivals at other pubs, they have taken the challenge of hosting a much larger beer festival in their stride, introducing themselves to the local community and starting their new chapter with the Grainstore.
The Spring Festival, which will take place over the bank holiday weekend from Thursday 2 to Monday 6 April, will showcase 25 real ales from across the country as well as a range of ciders.
There will also be a wide selection of breakfast baps available from 10am to 12pm each day, followed by BBQ, pork baps and pizza throughout the day.
To accompany great beer and delicious food, there will be live music throughout the weekend, outside if the weather allows it.
On Friday 3 from 8.30pm, El Camino will be performing, followed by Mod Story from 3pm on Saturday 4 and The Veltones from 8.30pm and on Sunday 5, CJ Hatt will be performing from 2.30pm, followed by their usual Open Mic Night from 6pm where local performers are welcome to take part.
Since taking over the Grainstore Brewery Tap in November, Andrea and Richard have been busy managing the initial rush over Christmas and New Year but are now finding themselves and adding their personal touch.

Both experienced in managing pubs, Andrea and Richard pride themselves in using local produce and delivering warm, friendly customer service.
They hope to be at the forefront of the Grainstore, cultivating community and celebrating local beer, cider, food and fostering local talent.
When they took over, they were told by residents that they were keen for more live music and the Grainstore have delivered, now hosting live music at least once a month.
The Grainstore has always hosted two annual festivals, the Sausage and Cider Festival during the second May bank holiday weekend and the main Annual Rutland Beer Festival over the August bank holiday.
The new Spring Festival hopes to add to these existing popular local festivals, highlighting their passion for great local food and drink, excellent service and community spirit.
