Rutland Farm Park is hosting its annual charity fun day in August, and is looking for local bakers to contribute to their bake sale going ahead as part of the celebrations.

Supporting St Barnabas Hospice, the team will be remembering 'Les Large', who sadly lost his battle to cancer last year. He and his wife, who works at Daphne's Tea Room at Rutland Farm Park, were supported by St Barnabas Hospice during his illness, and the team want to give back.

To help raise much-needed funds for the charity, Rutland Farm Park will be hosting another of their popular fun days.

Join the fun at Rutland Farm Park from 11am until 4pm, where there will be:

  • Bouncy Castle
  • Hook a duck
  • Welly wanging
  • Cake stall – donations welcome
  • Wine or water – please donate a bottles of wine
  • Tobola  - donations welcome
  • Food, ice cream and lots more

On top of this, the team will be hosting a bake sale, with cakes and goods donated by local people and all money raised going to the cause.

Farmer Amy, who runs the farm and is heavily involved in organising the upcoming fun day, said: "If you love to bake, we would love to sell your cakes to raise money for a good cause!

"Please bring all cakes to the farm on Friday 2 August in labelled containers - both with your name so your container can get returned to you and with allergens so we know what’s it’s them.

"We can’t wait to see your baking skills!"

"We would love it if we could beat our £2,000 target from last year's fun day. In order to do this, we desperately need sponsors, donations and volunteers. We're looking for music, entertainment, and support from local businesses."

Local businesses have also been invited to join the fundraising efforts, and can purchase a pitch for the day. This will cost only £15, with all funds raised from business stalls going to the hospice charity.
