Rutland Farm Park will be joining the national Open Farm Sunday initiative this weekend.
On Sunday 9 June, farms across the country are opening their doors to give local people a valuable insight into what British farming is like.
Rutland Farm Park is a family-run farm located on Uppingham Road, Oakham, and is home to a range of rare breed animals, rescues and new residents born on the farm this spring. It is run by husband and wife duo, Clive and Julie Ball, and headed up by their daughter Farmer Amy, who takes care of the day to day running of the play and traditional working farm.
The team host regular events and fundraisers as well as getting involved with local and national initiatives - one of which is coming up this weekend.
Open Farm Sunday, 9 June 2024, gives visitors the opportunity to learn more about farming and the countryside, and farmers the chance to talk about what they're so proud of: British food and farming.
And Rutland Farm Park will be joining the fun, offering discounted tickets for visitors as a part of the drive to get more people out and learning about local farming.
The team said: "In honour of this, we're doing discounted entry so you can come and find out more about our lovely animals and see what our farm is all about."
Rutland Farm Park is open 10am to 5pm, with last entry at 4pm.
