Spare an hour a week to make a difference to an isolated person in Rutland
By James Smith 27th Oct 2026
Age UK Leicestershire & Rutland is "urgently appealing" for more volunteer befrienders across Rutland.
The charity has a number of older people who would benefit from regular visits and companionship.
Volunteers are asked to spare an hour or two each week to visit an isolated person and make a positive difference to their life.
"We have lots of lovely elderly people who would love a regular visit from a befriender," the charity said.
"If you have an hour or two a week to make a difference to an isolated person's life, then you are just what we are looking for."
Training and ongoing support will be provided to everyone who takes on the role.
